Strength Training is Irreplaceable

Hello there. I’m Connor. I own and operate Spark Fitness. We focus on strength training. We help you get strong, lose body fat, and get out of pain by getting really good at the basics.

Here’s my main message to you today: strength training is irreplaceable.

There is nothing you can do that gives the benefits that strength training does. Before I go too far – let’s talk about what strength training is…

Strength training is lifting progressively heavier weights over time, primarily in the squat, deadlift, bench press, and press. And… what is strength? It is the ability to produce force against something. The more force you can produce, the more weight you can lift, and the visa versa: lifting more weight than last time – or that you ever have – proves that you are producing more force and got stronger.

Strength training is the only way you can put on muscle (and get toned) and the only way to increase your bone density. There quite literally is no other way to do these things.

Almost everyone on the earth wants to put on lean muscle, get toned, and have denser bones, and almost everyone does almost everything except the thing that actually accomplishes those goals.

Ideally, you would strength train 30-45 mins/a day 3-4 days per week for the next 50 years.

But it doesn’t have to be that. It could be 1x/week for the next 50 years. You will get a huge, life long benefits from doing just that… And we actually offer both! We have many clients that get significantly stronger training just 1x/week.

You still need to have an active lifestyle. You still need to eat well, sleep well, and mange your stress.

There’s no amount of running that can help you build muscle and bone density. No amount of basketball, Yoga, BJJ, or hiking can do that.

Do the things you love to do – dance. Play pickelball. But ALWAYS keep at least 1 day per week for strength training. Please keep in mind, just lifting weights doesn’t cut it. Squatting, deadlifting, pressing, and bench pressing with a barbell – not machines or dumbbells – are by far the most effective way to do this.

Strength training is also extremely safe – so long as you have a qualified coach who can teach you the correct form, and select your weights for you. Strength training gets a bad wrap from people that independently go into a gym that have never lifted before, have terrible form, put on too much weight, get hurt and then blame the weight lifting.

People need strength training. More than ever, people are running out of body before they run out of life. There is a staggering number of people that end up bedridden toward the end of their life – and it is getting worse.

Strength training is the only way we know we can prevent this.

So… simply put, not only is strength training the most effective way to improve your sexiness, it is also the most effective way for you to maintain your independence later in life.

Seems pretty irreplaceable to me.
