THE BEST TIME TO START IS WHEN YOU ARE BUSY

Connor Green here again from Spark Fitness.

‍I was thinking the other day that…

‍The best time to start working out is when you are busy NOT when you have the time.

Let me tell you a brief, tiny, little story…

Person comes to the gym because “work slowed down” or “they have more time.”

They do great. Things are amazing.

Work picks back up. They have less time.

They go back to where they were almost immediately – or they regress farther than they did before.

Then, work gets slower. They go back to the gym. Rinse and repeat, 3, 4, 5 + times.

As you can see that doesn’t work well. I admire the attitude to get back into the gym.

But deep down what this core belief says, whether it is conscious or subconscious: “fit people have more time than I do”.

I always like to ask, “Is there someone out there doing as much as you, but still training?” The answer is always of course!

That’s not to highlight that someone is better – that is to highlight that it is possible and there is method that you can put into play in your own life too.

We all have the same 168 hours per week. And you need 1.5 hours of training per week to make SERIOUS gains. 1.5/168. That’s less than 1% of your time.

We practically spend more time brushing our teeth and going to the bathroom than that.

The the best time to start is when you are busy because it will force you to figure out a sustainable way for you to train.

If you can manage a few days a week for 20-45 mins, imagine where you will be when work actually slows down or when you have more time.

Or better yet: imagine work never slows down and you never have more time.

You’ll become a fitter, healthier, happier version of yourself anyway.
